Yoko is the daughter of Master Dansuke Mitsurugi of the Mitsurugi Dojo in Cherry Village. She's actually the strongest student in the school due her amount of training, while other women in her village prepare to be beautiful and presentable to be a wife, Yoko practices to be an expert fighter to one day open her Dojo and become a master of Martial Arts, her father is completely against the fact of being a Master of a Dojo since she's a woman. She meets Marx and Emerald when they're on a delievery mission to return Master Dansuke's refined sword, the Wolf's Hook, for the school's fighter tournament, (And before anyone thinks it's a cliche, Dansuke refines the sword every year days before the tournament) Yoko decides to enter the tournament since the winner gets any request from Dansuke regardless what it may be.
